Blood tests that tell you what you need

I'm wondering if there are certain blood tests you can ask your doctor to do that will tell you what vitamins, minerals and other nutrients you are missing? I recently found I have a Vitamin D and B deficiencies. Now I want to know more.

Yes, I think you can request a blood panel that will highlight any nutritional deficiencies. Whether your insurance will cover it is another matter altogether.

Yes, I have heard of these types of blood test also. From what I heard though, they are very expensive so I would be sure to check to see if insurance will cover it or not.

I know with pets it is possible and the last time I talked to a vet about it they said a blood culture cost almost three hundred dollars. I would have no idea what it would cost and if insurance would cover it (if you just want it done, not like a doctor suggests it) for a human.
