    Kitchen Spices?

I found a recipe for a diuretic tea made with cumin or rosemary. It calls for one teaspoon of cumin or rosemary to be added to a cup of boiling water. I admit this confuses me. Can I just use the "spice" that I have in the kitchen for cooking for this or am I really just wasting my time? I...

    Chillies

I just read an article about chili peppers. They contain the substance Capsaicin, which can reduce the risk of stroke and coronary heart disease. It is in the white veins and seeds. It is also helpful for loosening mucus blockage of the throat and nose, as well as sinusitis.

    Whole Foods Market Becoming Healthier

I just read an article about the changes being made at Whole Foods Markets. Seems like they have decided to get back to nature and concentrate on healthy food items rather than the gourmet chocolates and cheese. Yay for them!

    Dry or wet food?

I make my dogs food out of ground beef or ground turkey, brown rice and veggies once in awhile. I make it up as a meatloaf and then slice it and freeze it so I have some for other days. It really is just plain foods, and I mean plain. There is little seasoning in it, but they love it. Otherwise...

    Stevia and related sweeteners

I have never had any side effects with any artificial sweeteners. I don't really know what to use anymore. It seems like when I find any kind of sweetener, that isn't sugar, everything goes fine and then all of a sudden everyone is telling me it is bad for me. Then the next new thing comes out...

    Winter Exercise

I have to take my dogs on walks even if it is cold, so that helps. I also try to take them on an hour hike at least once a week. But, I also have a DVD of ballet exercises that I use. I like to dance instead of exercise, especially in the winter. I use my MP3 player and earbuds and dance around...

    Aromatherapy for Dogs

Thank you for the suggestion. I have seen dogs being massaged on one of the dog training shows on TV. I have tried to do that with him some, but I didn't really know what I was doing. I will look for the program online and see where I can get it. He really needs something, I just keep him with...

    Fear of fats

I don't really avoid fats, I just try to be careful what fats I use. I use olive oil whenever I can. I am reading about the Mediterranean way of eating and olive oil is a staple in their meals and they seem to have a healthy diet.

    Self Healing

I was in a minor car accident this past summer, it wasn't major but I hurt my back and neck. I started seeing a massage therapist to help with the pain. It did help some, but I found the most relief from working on things myself through meditation, yoga and other stretching exercises. I really...

    Garlic

Okay, thanks for the information. I can eat it raw. I guess I could crush it and eat it with bread, maybe even dip it in olive oil. It would be great if it helped to lower my blood pressure naturally. Thanks for the info!
