The doctor has prescribed the diabetes drug Lyrica for my 80-year-old father. As I read more about the side effects, I'm wondering if it's wise for him to take this drug. Does anyone here have experience with Lyrica, especially in older patients?

The dizziness listed as a side effect seems like it might be a big concern since an older person is more likely to fall.
I don't have any experience with the drug. But I wanted to mention a warning to do some research to make sure that it does not interact with any other medications he is taking. I didn't realize what a problem that was until my grandmother had two different doctors prescribe medications that had a bad interaction.
