Green Tea and Nuts Nutrition BenefitsThe health benefits of both green tea and nuts have been known for quite some time. Consuming both green tea and nuts can lead to a longer, healthier, more fulfilling life. Here are the benefits of each:

Green Tea

Packed with antioxidants, green tea has been proven to minimize the risk of developing cancer and heart disease. In particular, green teas have proven to fight breast cancer, stomach cancer, and pancreatic cancer. Plus, it limits clotting in the heart. Over a decade of research has gone into finding these results, and nearly all medical experts are in agreement that green tea is one of the most healthy substances you can consume.

In addition to fighting cancer and heart disease risks, the antioxidants and other components of green tea lower cholesterol and prevent diabetes. The antioxidants in green tea eliminate free radicals that cause damage to DNA. One of the reasons the antioxidants in green tea are so effective and lead to so many health benefits is because they are incredibly concentrated. The leaves of green tea are withered instead of fermented, meaning they have unique catechins that are ultra-concentrated.

Of course, many people consume green tea because it can lead to weight loss. It does this a few different ways. First, the substances in green tea lower LDL cholesterol, limiting the odds of forming diabetes. Secondly, green tea contains a number of components that increase thermogenesis, or the body’s fat-burning efforts. Caffeine is one of those substances, but there are others as well.

Many of the weight loss benefits of green tea can be garnered by taking a supplement that has concentrated green tea in it. Of course, the best results often come from drinking green tea. In addition to all of the substances within green tea that promote weight loss, don’t forget drinking green tea can keep you hydrated and keep your metabolism high, leading to more calories spent.

Nuts

Like green tea, there are a plethora of amazing health benefits that come from consuming nuts. Nuts are composed primarily of unsaturated fats and protein. While many people avoid fats at all costs, unsaturated fats provide numerous health benefits. First, they can lower your cholesterol by limiting LDL.

Secondly, the unsaturated fat in nuts can actually lead to weight loss. Although nuts have a lot of calories, they increase your metabolism and cause you to burn more calories. Your body actually tends to burn fat when you consume nuts, even though the nuts have fat in them. The unsaturated fat in nuts takes a long time to digest, keeping your body in a state of thermogenesis. Plus, nuts keep you full for a long time. They suppress your appetite, meaning you will consume fewer calories later in the day.

On top of that, nuts also have a variety of other vitamins and minerals that promote health. The calcium in many nuts, such as almonds, leads to strong bones. Most nuts have high levels of copper that lead to an improved immune system. The magnesium in nuts provides great energy, and the iron helps you maintain healthy skin, nails, and hair.

All in all, the health benefits of both green tea and nuts are not up for debate. There is years of research that has proven the benefits of each, and you can live a much healthier life simply by consuming these two items on a daily basis.
