Vitex

I have a friend who needs to take some Vitex for about three months. She's read that you should not take it continually without a break, that you should take a break while you are on your period.

The problem is that she bleeds for about 3 weeks a month. The problem that causes that is the one she is trying to fix by taking the Vitex.

Does anyone know anyone know if it is okay for her to take it for three months straight? If not, what problems might it cause?

I've never heard of Vitex needing to be stopped; in fact, my understanding is that one should take it consistently for several months in order to see results. It isn't a hormone; it's an herb that regulates hormones to make things work properly.
