Snow and ice all over the UK!

They are saying on the news that this Winter is as bad as 2010. So far, tens of thousands have lost power, and thousands of schools have closed. Airplanes and trains have been affected, and people are being told not to drive unless absolutely necessary. How come we are so badly prepared when this was predicted days ago?

I think it is because people just ignore the warnings, or they think that it won't be as bad as the meteorologists predict. I hope that you guys come through okay.

A friend of mine in Virgina said they ended up with a ton of snow too, he went outside and could not find the ice scraper so he used one of those disk deals from Frisbee Golf. I think part of planning for any winter storm no matter where you are located is proper planning, many people never do this. Heck I met a lady one time who told me none of her (four) kids even had winter jackets because she never expected it to get cold on the east coast!
