Sage

I've been growing a sage plant for a couple of months now. I'm actually pretty happy by the rate at which it has grown over the summer. I'm kind of wondering when would be best to pick some of the leaves, or if it matters at all. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sage is an awesome herb. I love the strong scent and the smokiness of it. I'd say just pick off a few leaves as needed. Unless you plan on storing some for fall, which you probably should at this point.

My sage stays green/purple all year round no matter how cold the winter. If you need some for the kitchen you could pick several leaves and dry them. If not, you can pick as needed and use fresh sage. My biggest sage use comes at Thanksgiving with the turkey dressing. We love lots of sage for flavor.
