Melatonin and L-Theanine


I always have melatonin on hand for sleepless nights, but I recently read that L-Theanine helps to quiet the mind and promote relaxation. I was happy to find a supplement that had both melatonin and L-Theanine in one pill! It worked to make me sleep well and relax me, but I have only taken it once. We will see how it does when I have my usual PMS related insomnia.


Does melatonin work on an as needed basis then? I thought it was something you should take every night. I'll have to get some, then, as I have insomnia due to menopause kicking in. What is L-Theanine anyway?


I am not familiar with L-Theanine either. I have had my fair share of sleepless nights due to insomnia and stress
(I think), but I am actually a bit scared of taking melatonin or other supplements.
