Jelly soap

I saw a few videos about making jelly soap. The girl making it used some store bought liquid shower gel and added unflavored gelatin. I was wondering if I could do this, making some substitutions to make it more natural and better. The kids seemed very interested. I was thinking maybe ivory or some glycerine soap? I am a total newbie so I welcome suggestions. Could this work? How bad is the gelatin? Is there a sub I could use that would be better if the gelatin won't cut it? Thanks so much!

That's interesting. I've never heard of such a thing but I'd be willing to try it. It doesn't seem like gelatin would make a very firm bar, though. Where did you see these videos?

I saw them on youtube. I can't post a link yet. But you can type in jelly soap and you will find several. It seems like fun and you could customize the color and ingredients.
