Go basil!

I planted some basil at the beginning of the season, from seed. It got to be about half an inch tall and then just stopped growing. I don't know what the problem was.

Today I went outside and happened to glace at the basil and, lo and behold, the basil has finally started growing! Several of the plants finally have some good leaves. I am so tickled that I may get some fresh basil to use in the kitchen this year after all.

Congratulations on your progress! There is nothing like fresh basil, the difference between the fresh and dried is so big it's like two different spices. Yet, it's quite expensive if you just buy it in a store. I wonder if it's possible to get some nice basil indoors.

Basil likes hot, sunny well drained conditions. Don't over water. It is said they like to be watered at the hottest time of the day. Midday. Pinching out small amounts encourages new growth. Basil must be one of the most popular herbs ever. The King of the herbs.
