Dog eating Grass

Why does my inside dog, insist on eating grass? I have heard that animals do this, to cure an upset stomach, but I think my dog does it for fun. I do not find it fun, when he hacks a grass ball in my lap, though!

That is the only reason that I have ever heard - to soothe an upset stomach. My cats do the same thing when they get outside. I have never seen my dog puke one up though!

Our has only done this when he was teething as a pup. How old is your dog now? Is it doing the same thing as most cats do when they eat grass (with an upset stomach trying to induce vomiting)?

This isn't abnormal but it is pretty nasty when they hack the grass back up. I wonder what you could do to get him to stop eating it?

Animals need vegetable materials as well as we do. Your dog is doing what cats do with wheat grass. I try to give my dogs as many vegetables cooked or cut up as they will eat along with the meat that they get. Mine love carrots, celery, tomatoes and raw green beans.
