A survey on women with breast cancer in one breast reveals that 98% of them chose to have both breasts removed thinking that it would prevent the disease from spreading to the unaffected breast and help increase their survival rate. However, some medical researchers argue that women with cancer and tend to overestimate the procedure called contralateral prophylactic mastectomy. They say that in most women, the procedure doesn't do much to improve their survival.
