Candles only burning on the inside.

I made a number of plan wax candles and I'm having problems with the way they are burning. They burn a 1 inch diameter area in the middle and do not burn out to the edge of the candle. The candles are three inch diameter candles so an inch all around the outside doesn't burn. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting candles with this problem to burn out to the edges?

Check out the wicks. They could be too small, not the right weave, not the right material or not a good type. Google it and there is a lot of info on picking wicks for what you are doing.
