Candle-Making Newbie!

I've never made a candle before, but I'd really like to know how, especially if anyone can offer up advice on how to make scented candles. It seems like every time I go to the store, candles cost more than they did the last time I was there. The last time I visited a Bath and Body Works store, their large candles were almost $20 dollars EACH! I can't afford that - that's half a tank of gas!!

I recommend a kit to start out. I bought a kit from Michaels and made some lovely candles. Then once I was used to the process and knew more about what I wanted, I started ordering supplies individually.
