Is it any less expensive to make your own candles than it is to buy them? I love candles at this time of year, but it's hard to justify spending money on stuff that just goes up in smoke.
If you make a lot at the same time and make use of jars and containers you find in thrift shops or at yard sales, making your own candles can cost less. If you buy expensive ingredients, the cost can add up.
You could probably buy candles for cheaper, but they wouldn't be the best quality. And there's something satisfying about making and then burning your own.
It seems to me that making candles would be cheaper than store bought. I think they are expensive when I see store prices! But then, I have always assumed making anything yourself is cheaper.
