    Pharmaceuticals

I take Ventolin asthma spray which is prescribed. I was on Crestor, a cholesterol lowering drug with some success in lowering my high level but after reading a post on this forum some time back, I looked into it and decided to give that particular medication up.

    Sunshine or rain?

I like both. I've just got through winter and am looking forward to warmer weather. At the height of summer I will be dreaming of those cool wet days when the nights are long and the fire is roaring. Give me both.

SAVE THE WORLD WITH WIND POWER

I agree they are an eyesore and the current design that is in use has the problem with bird kill. Migratory birds, birds of prey and others are all vulnerable with the turbine. I definitely could not live near a wind farm. Solar power is an option and there has been development with other forms...

    Go basil!

Basil likes hot, sunny well drained conditions. Don't over water. It is said they like to be watered at the hottest time of the day. Midday. Pinching out small amounts encourages new growth. Basil must be one of the most popular herbs ever. The King of the herbs.

    Lovage

I grew lovage over the years. Once established it will grow back every spring. It likes moist areas and looks a bit like celery. The leaves a great in soups and stews. I no longer have it growing as my fences have been rearranged and the wildlife have now removed it totally. Thanks for reminding...

Ever Do Accidentally Do Something Really Stupid To Your Pet?

Yes, I have and wont ever live it down. I had a goat and her kid which were sometimes penned and other times free ranged. I had a collar on the kid and sometimes tied it to a peg with a long lead. One day the lead came untied and it went wandering around the property. It climbed up on a very...

Growing herbs for Year round use

I use parsley in a lot of meals. It is a good one to have year round as long as you replant to ensure there is plenty on hand.

    Drying herbs

Yes, I dry herbs. I use those large paper bags you can get and put there herbs in and dry slowly in a warm dark and airy place. Ensure you stir them up every other day or they can go mouldy if you have too much in a bag. Of course fresh herbs are the best but if you can't have them all year...

Definitely go get checked out. Tell him you wont have too much sympathy for him unless he does. No point in second guessing what is wrong.

My wife and I go shopping at different times but we both come out with so much more than what was on the grocery list. In fact when one of us comes homes with all those extra things we have a standard joke. The music must have been good.:D

    Dog Has Gas Problem

I will give that a go. I have stopped giving him all grain based foods. The things you find in dry dog food as well as canned. It seems to be working and the dogs stools are much harder. The tooting seems to have stopped a fair bit but I can access fish. Thanks.:)

    Least Annoying Bird?

You need to convince him you are not interested in birds. If you can't stand them then it is a bad choice to keep them as a pet. Will your husband do all the cleaning feeding and caring? Possibly not.

Do You Think Homemade Is Better?

My neighbour down the road makes rendered pig fat soap. She has got quite good at it. At the beginning it was awful and smelt like animal fat. Now she has made it a little easier to use. It stings the eyes a lot which I'm not happy about. I prefer soaps made using vegetable oils. I buy a...

Which Herbs Need More And Less Water?

Mint has an ability to grow in wet conditions. Basil on the other hand likes good drainage and watered at the hottest part of the day. It dislikes wet feet.

    Sneezing

I tried it the other day and saying Pineapple did work. :) Mind you yesterday I was eating and it all happened so fast, all I had was a shirt sleeve handy. What a mess. I really must carry a tissue or have a serviette handy at all times when I eat.
