    Fear of needles

I don't like shots either. But acupuncture needles really are so thin that I didn't feel them. Also, a good practitioner is skilled at inserting them, and so you won't feel it at all. Just don't watch! :)

    Controlling Mint

As an aside, I grow potted mint in my kitchen. I love pinching off a sprig and putting it in my hot tea. YUMMY!

    Controlling Mint

The only way I have found to control mint is to contain it. You can grow it in containers. You can grow it in a bed that is surrounded by concrete, such as between a house foundation and a wide sidewalk. It is extremely invasive otherwise.

    Dieting and Depression?

I second the suggestion of cooking with herbs and spices, and not just because this is a forum to discuss herbs. Herbs and spices add flavor and healthful benefits. Try making an Indian curry. Healthful and incredibly flavorful. That should get you to exploring flavor that doesn't involve junk...

    He keeps catching colds!

I cut down on office illness by using hand sanitizer after being around people and by making a point of washing my hands.

    No 'Poo

I like using homemade soap on my hair. Works beautifully. It is also gentle and does not strip hair of natural oils like detergent (which is what shampoos are).

    Daylight Saving Time

It is hard on me every year. It usually takes two weeks to feel normal. I like having light when I get off from work, but I hate having to adjust to getting up an hour earlier and go to bed an hour earlier. It really messes up my normal sleep patterns. Wish we could just stay on daylight...

    Clearing away the stress

I practice meditation with Reiki. It really helps reduce my stress levels. I have been thinking about adding a yoga class. A friend of mine does yoga and it seems like something I would enjoy.

    Have you had elderberries?

Elderberries make excellent jam! The syrup is a good cold and flu treatment. I have a few bushes. Love this herb!

    Howdy from the Midwest

Guess I should introduce myself. I am a long time gardener. I love herbs, growing them, cooking with them, using them to treat health issues, even decorating with them. I have studied herbs and used them for many years and I am happy to find a place devoted to discussing them.

    Vitamin B Complex

I take vitamin b complex for carpal tunnel syndrome. I find that I must take it in the morning because if I take it at night it makes it hard to sleep. I am guessing that would mean it might help with low energy too.

    Best Herbs for Menopause??

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but two natural treatments for menopause are flaxseed and black cohosh. Adding four tablespoons of ground flaxseed to your diet each day can help with hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and skin issues, etc. It is also a good way to add Omega 3 fatty acids to your...
