    GMO foods

GMO food does not exist to produce more or for sustainability. Most are genetically engineered to be resistant to herbicides or to produce an insecticide in the plant itself. Some are genetically engineered to produce more than one triat. One I've found has been engineered for 7 or 8 traits...

Things to consider before getting the flu vaccine

I have never taken the flu shot and the last time I had the flu was 40 years ago. I have no plans to ever take the shot.

    Standing against Monsanto

If we are going to defeat Monsanto, we are going to have to let our money speak for us and stop buying any foods that we suspect contain GMOs. That's pretty much anything from big name food companies and processed foods. Now would be a good time to start.

    Arthritis

My mother has been on methotrexate for 10 years for rheumatoid arthritis and has done well on it. She has an exceptional doctor, though. When I was diagnosed with it, my doctor sent me to a rheumatologist, who put me on it and prednizone. I took them for 3 days and then quit after doing my...

    Buying Supplements: Who regulates them

Oops! The statement "There is certainly reason to believe the decisions made at the FDA would not favor the company" should read "There is certainly NO reason to believe the decisions made at the FDA would not favor the company."

    Buying Supplements: Who regulates them

I expressed my personal views, not an argument, but I am happy to support those views. First, at some point, the government reduced funding to the FDA. At that point, when a drug, food additive, whatever is tested, the one who requests the test is required to pay a portion of those costs...

    St. Johns Wort

You can buy St. John's Wort seeds at artisticgardens.com. I'm not affiliated with the site, but I have bought seeds from them and I was completely satisfied. They aren't expensive and you can get sample packs with just a few seeds really cheap.

    Who Do You Believe?

Wow! That list is great! It's going to take me a while to visit all of those links. I have somewhat of a policy that determines who I believe. For the most part, I do not believe pharma companies, big business agriculture, scientific studies (unless verified), government agencies (too...

    Multivitamins?

New Chapter is a good company that produces whole foods vitamins. Mega Foods and a few other companies produce whole foods vitamins, which are the best you can buy. Like petunia said, though, they are pricey and anything is better than nothing. My second choice would be vitamins from Puritans...

Where do you buy your supplements?

I used to buy supplements at Puritans Pride, but not so much anymore. I buy whole foods vitamins and minerals from Mega Foods, New Chapter and sometimes other whole foods companies. I selected them because they are often GMO-free and do not contain "added ingredients."

    Arthritis

I can relate because I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and refused to get on the pharma drugs. Many claim that diet doesn't matter, but staying away from sugar, junk food, processed foods, etc. were recommended by my doctor. I just got the book The New Arthritis Cure by Dr. Bruce Fife...

    Herbal burn cream

Aloe vera is the best thing I've ever used for burns. If you have a plant, just pinch off a tip and spread the substance inside on the burn. If you don't have a plant, you could probably open a capsule and spread the contents on the burn.

    Buying Supplements: Who regulates them

I do not believe the FDA can be trusted to regulate anything, so I'm perfectly fine with them not having control over supplements. I very much hope they never get control over them.

    Superbugs in meat

I quit buying meat from large grocery stores. The last time I bought chicken, I threw it out and the last time I bought beef, it just didn't seem "right." If I could find a place to buy it that I could trust or a local farmer to buy it from, I would. Factory farming should be illegal!

Do You Use A MultiVitamin Or Singles?

Taking a multi-vitamin every day isn't going to hurt you, but it's much better to get your nutrition from food. That doesn't mean McDonald's, processed foods and snacks. It means a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables (organic if possible), meat that has been raised by real farmers (no...
