    Hand sanitizer

I have some but we don't use it for our kids unless we absolutely have to. One of my husband's instructors at school was telling them that a child had nearly died from alcohol poisoning from excessive use of the stuff. There was also a story on Yahoo not too long ago about kids drinking it to...

What do you use for a cough?

I hope you guys are feeling better by now. My grandparents had a "remedy" for coughs that worked everytime. I don't know the proportions but it had whiskey, lemon, orange juice, and honey in it. As a kid the whiskey would of course knock me out, but the cough would be gone for good by morning.

    Medicinal properties of chicken soup

Interesting! I always thought that it was just a comforting thing and that was why it worked. I will look around and see if I can find anything about it though because that is pretty neat.

    Coming Down with a Cold

Try taking some vitamin C and increasing your water intake to try and flush it out faster. I have been fighting off something for a few days too. I think my immune system is struggling because I have been so stressed.

    Jar Gifts

I am planning to make some jar gifts this year as well. Here are some others I had found. Here is a way to jazz up your jar lids too!

    Sneaking in veggies

I have gotten really good at sneaking vegetables into the food my family eats, and I was curious as to whether others do this too? I will puree veggies like carrots, spinach, and kale and then use it in things like vegetable soup, and spaghetti sauce. I even pureed broccoli and spinach and put...

    Teenage daughter having pains

The change in pills could possibly be causing her discomfort. My husband is a diabetic and he had some issues when some medications were changed to generic. I would recommend taking her in anyway though because she could have cysts or something of that nature. I have had a few of those rupture...

    Diaper Shortage

I have got a baby in diapers too, but so far I haven't seen an explosion in price or had a hard time finding any. I buy mine at Sam's by the case so hopefully they will stay affordable.

    Hiatal Hernia

I hate to tell you, but the only thing that is going to repair a hernia is surgery. I had surgery for one last November and it really wasn't bad. The recovery time was about 6 weeks and I feel much better now that it is fixed.

    Mad at the World

Valerian root may help you calm down, and St. John's Wort is supposed to help balance your mood. Does the change in mood have anything to do with your menstrual cycle?

    Staining over paint

My husband used to have a painting company, and he said that it won't work. You will have to chemically strip it and then sand it, and it still may not look right.

    Valerian Dosage for anxiety

I have used Valerian for anxiety and headaches before, but the doseage was considerably higher than that. I would take in the neighborhood of 3,000 mg a couple of times a day. You can always start with a smaller doseage and build up to more if you need it.

    DIY skin brightening mask

This sounds really nice Lilly! I am going to have to gather the few ingredients I don't have when I get to the store this week. Thanks for sharing. :)

    Sunburn Remedies

I usually use a cold shower or a cool bath with baking soda. When I get out I will usually use aloe gel that we always keep at the ready in the refrigerator.

Yoga - will my body get used to it

You definitely shouldn't give up. Your brain learns the movement by repetition so just keep practicing the movements. I'll bet everyone looks like a klutz to start with. I am so ungraceful I would probably be laughed out of a zumba class.
