Weeds!

I tilled a small sized garden where there was grass before and raked out quite a bit of roots and grass before I planted my herbs. The grass is coming back with a vengeance! Is there a safe, organic way to get rid of it?

The only one I know is to pull the weeds and then mulch as much as possible. Newspaper is pretty effective if you use several layers. You just have to make sure your herbs can get the water they need.

You can use a mixture of vinegar and soap to kill weeds in sidewalk cracks and places like that, but it will kill all your plants, so only use it where you want everything dead!

We started planting a couple of years ago. Whoever had this brfore planted centipede grass, roots way underground. The only thing that helps is to weed when the ground is very wet, pull slowly so you get the stems root. Not much help for this year but next year you'll have fewer and the year after that even fewer.
