Vets and antibiotics

Do you ever feel like your vet prescribes antibiotics too easily and for too long? I usually don't give them to my cat for the whole period recommended by the vet. I'm afraid of killing his bacterial flora, causing fungitis, and breeding superbacterias on him. My vet doesn't seem to worry about those things, but I do.

I cannot remember the last time my vet had to give any of my pets any medicine. I don't think they ever gave us too much either. I wonder why your vet is.
