The first message that was posted stated that "I have a nasty bacterial infection next to the bone". Turmeric is a very effective anti-inflammatory more so than an antibiotic, so it would help the inflammation to go down, but not necessarily cure the infection. Goldenseal is a well known anibiotic, and has been proven to be effective. Arnica is also an anti-inflammatory, but remember that it should never be taken internally. One of the oldest herbs used for healing bones, is comfrey. There has been studies that have shown comfrey to be carcinogenic, and is no longer approved for internal use, however, the amounts that rats were given in the experiments to proove this were rather large. Comfrey was also called knitbone by some. You can make a tea, or use it as a salve. It is one of the few herbs that contain allantoin (sp?), shown to be effective at a cellular level when applied on the skin. Garlic is also a good antibiotic, as stated above. Always remember though, with any infection, if the area is warm to the touch, if there is any discharge from the area,(especially green), if there is a foul smell coming from the wound, an increase in body temperature or increased pain in the area, seek medical advice immediately. Internal infections can be extremely dangerous, and can result in systemic infection, making you very ill, very quickly. You don't say how long you have had this, but also remember that some herbs may interfere with the ability of a blood test to correctly identify the bacteria if your condition should worsen
