Local Honey

Has anyone had any success using local honey to try and alleviate allergy and sinus trouble? I know someone who has a hive in their backyard, but I was curious as to whether anyone has tried it with success.

Yeah, but you have to take it every day. I used to just have a cup of tea with a big helping of honey in the morning. Took a week or so but it helps. I wish I had a source right now, the wife used all of it up.

I second what Jason said. A tablespoon of local honey in your daily tea can really help around allergy season. I swear by it in the spring and late in the summer.

You do also have to be careful that it is not over processed. Even local honey is sometimes heat processed, which can kill the benefits of raw honey.

I have no idea where we would even begin to do something like this. I also know if I told my husband to come with me around some bees he would flip out and run in the opposite direction. How do you start?

Beware of honey that has undergone ultra-filtration. The honey market is loaded with counterfeit products that are being smuggled illegally into the US. This is pretty unbelievable. This article is not new, but the problem is still ongoing.
