Do you know if tea tree oil spoils or becomes rancid if you've had it for a while? I have had some for quite a while and it smells different. Should I throw it away or is it still OK to use even if it smells different?

I don't for sure if Tea Tree oil goes bad, but anything that changes drastically in the way it smells or looks, I just throw out just to be on the safe side. I have had oil go bad on me, so it stands to reason that this oil would too.

I have had some essential oils for over ten years and they are still okay. It depends mostly on how you store them, they cannot take extreme temperatures whether it be hot or cold.

Follow the age old rule, when in doubt, throw it out. It really never fails.

If it smells different to you, and you are in doubt as to whether it is still in good condition, then, throw it out. Better to be safe than sorry!
