Diabetes And Your Menstrual Cycle

I have a friend how has been having excessive bleeding during her menstrual cycle for the past three months. Her doctor has ordered to tests to determine the problem. One test he ordered was to check her glucose level. I have never heard of glucose testing for menstrual bleeding. Has anyone else heard of this?

It's not that menstrual bleeding is a result of diabetes, but rather there can be high glucose levels in those that have excessive menstrual bleeding. I know that sometimes they may test glucose levels when having bleeding to make sure that diabetic management is not necessary.
