Bug dope?

This works, and so Heaven help me, I HAVE to get my one kid to do this (stubborn little urchin)....

REAL tonic water contains a derivative of the drug that treats malaria as it's flavoring agent, and does something to the blood chemistry to 'turn off' flying buffet-seekers.

I know that a single gin'n'tonic with a citrus twist (NOT my favorite drink), before dinner, and I don't get bitten that night.... go figure.

I have never heard of this one before. Is this something you have to buy online? Are you still using it? Have you noticed any side effects from drinking it?

Heck no, and it's a great cocktail!

It was while looking into something about the India wars in the 1860's that had me stumble upon the fact, and I've put it to use more than once.

As for side effects.... a drink a day? non-existent, I'd say.

Skeeters are attracted to CO2... our very breath is what brings them.

I'm not a drinker and I really don't like tonic water. However, if it keeps me from getting bitten, I'm all for it. I'll try this out tomorrow. I have an evening picnic to go to and we will be out quite late.
