Arthritis in dogs

My dear old female Chesapeake Bay Retriever is beginning to show her age. She has always been quite the athlete, but she seems pretty stiff these days. Do you know of any good natural remedies for arthritis in dogs?

Have you tried the glucosamine/condrotin blend sold in a lot of pet stores? I use it for my thirteen year old Chi/Pom mix and it works quite well for him. He's been on it for several years though. It's made in a chewable form and he really likes the taste.

Oh poor pup! I have never had a dog that had arthritis. My aunts dog was this way and she went to the vet for some medicine. I don't know what it was though. I don't think it really helped much though.

I have not perused the pet stores for supplements as yet. I was kind of hoping to hear word of mouth what other people have found helpful for their dogs. So far, the glucosamine/chondritin approach seems to be the most common.
