    Honey for Coughs

Do you take a spoonful of honey to help soothe a cough? I had a tickle in my throat last night and the honey took care of it just like that! Hopefully the cough doesn't come back: so far, so good.

    Dry Skin

The lower humidity of winter always means dry skin. It's not nearly as bad as it was when I lived up north, but it's annoying enough. I put lotion on frequently despite hating the initial feel of lotion.

    White Fir Essential Oil

I just bought a bottle of white fir essential oil and I love the scent. Our diffuser is getting some frequent use these days. Have you ever smelled white fir?

    Christmas Candles

Do you make any candles especially for Christmas? I like to make red and green ones and burn them around the house during the holiday season.

    Moxibustion

I didn't realize that acupuncturists were the ones to see for moxibustion until I was talking about it with an acupuncturist the other day. It's good to know, since it's possible I will need her to help turn my baby when I get closer to my due date.

    FDA Will Ban Trans Fats

It's about time! The FDA will finally ban trans fats, although the time table is not yet decided. Trans fats are so incredibly bad for people that I'm surprised it's taken this long for the FDA to address the issue.

    Mother-in-Law's Dog

Last week my mother-in-law's dog somehow hurt her neck. She was in a great deal of pain and ended up spending several days at the vet's office. My mother-in-law told me that she has to give her pain meds several times a day still. I feel so badly for that dog. We don't even know how she hurt...

    Weather Headaches

Do you get headaches when the weather changes? We have a cold front moving through and my head has been hurting for the past couple of days. Last night I took an ice pack with me to bed and it helped somewhat, but it's been rough.

    Pelvic Tilts

If you have lower back pain, pelvic tilts are great for stretching out your muscles. There are several ways to do them but I prefer to get on my hands and knees. Then I slowly tuck my rear end under a little by contracting my abs. My lower back feels pretty good afterward.

    Favorite Headache Remedy

What is your favorite headache remedy when you are pregnant? Tylenol doesn't do much for me. Generally I have a little caffeine and that can be helpful, but otherwise I just tough it out.

    Burn Remedies

A friend of mine burned herself in the kitchen last night, to the point of raising blisters. She tried cool water, ice packs, and peppermint essential oil to cool the burn but she was still in a lot of pain. I felt so bad for her. Are there any other good remedies to ease the pain?

    Gym is Closed

I can't go work out at the gym this week because they closed it for a few days to clean and renovate. I'm sure it will look great when it's done but I'm really missing my gym time.

    Starfruit

Are you a fan of starfruit? One of my husband's coworkers gave him some so I sliced one up this morning. It's a little tart though.

    Working in Natural Soap Store

I went to get some soap at the natural soap store and they were looking for help. If it wasn't so far away from my house, I would have applied. I think I would have enjoyed working there.

    Outside Time

Do you get outside every day? I go outside most days but sometimes I don't make it because I am so busy indoors. I always feel better after getting some sunshine, though.

    Dog Fights

A friend of mine just had to take her dog in to the emergency vet. Her new roommate's dog attacked hers and it was pretty bad! Luckily her dog will be okay once he heals. They now have to keep the dogs separated.

Can a House Make You Sick?

Ever since we moved to this house, we've been prone to colds. Last winter was really bad, with a cold roughly once a month. We had a few good months but now have had a couple colds within a month again. We live in a warm climate and it's only about 40 minutes from our old house. I wondered...

    Always Hungry

I am hungry a ridiculous amount of time. I had to get up twice last night to eat a snack. If that isn't crazy, I don't know what is.

    Natural Immunity Shots

I saw a link on Facebook for immunity shots. You juice a lemon and add chopped garlic, cayenne pepper, and raw honey. Have you ever tried anything like this? Did it work?
