Remember to eat fruits & veggies

Doing this would drive me batty. Of course, I eat lots of veggies in a day's time. Our bodies need to come with buttons and toggle switches.

    Books and DVDs

I am set for the next few months. I ordered myself a set of DVDs and books to work through a healthy eating plan. Fed Ex brought it today. I'm finishing all my work early today and tomorrow so I can spend the weekend going through and planning my new program. I am so hyped!

    people skipping out on vaccinations

I totally agree, kamcalli. What to do with all those cute little puppies and kittens that grow into stray dogs and cats has been, and will continue to be a danger to themselves and to others. I wish there were an easy answer all around.

    Expired vitamins

In cleaning out the closets this week, I found four bottles of Vitamin C that are are reaching their expiration dates or just past. I know I should probably toss them, but they probably have some effectiveness left, don't they? I wouldn't hesitate to throw out old medicine, but I'm on the fence...

    Avoid prostate issues?

My husband was eating pineapple the other night and asked if pineapple were an extra healthy fruit. I told him it had Vitamin C, but I didn't have an easy answer at my disposal. I am glad to learn about bromelain and how it is possibly an anti-inflammatory. Thank you.

    Selling on eBay?

Dixie is right. You don't get much money at all from selling most books on eBay. Do a search to see what the book has sold for recently through their completed auctions. You might want to check Amazon books, too. I've sold a few there. I usually wait until I have a yard sale and put out books...

    Shingles

This brings up a memory I had long ago when I was first married. We lived next to an older lady who was always working in her garden out back. She stayed bent over from the waist. We saw more of that lady's tush than I can possibly tell. By day she was a chiropractor. We saw the other end of her...

Had some really good Rosemary Chicken

We enjoy rosemary chicken from time to time. Once in awhile, I'm able to find an organic chicken on sale. Those are especially nice. Our grocer carries a brand we're particularly fond of. Even my husband can tell the difference.

    Best spas

I was lucky enough to go to the spa at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville a few years ago. The mood was set before you ever reached the entrance to the spa. We walked down a long hall that led into soothing atmosphere and music. Then the good stuff began. We had a weekend of pampering. I am so...

    Mold

Mold can be a very dangerous thing. My friend used to teach in a room at her school she swore made her sick. As time went on, they discovered mold and spores back inside cabinets. She changed rooms and the problems went away. They're finally tearing down that old school.

    Is Chiropractic Dangerous?

Jason, you've put this extremely well. I know a few people who consider chiropractors "quacks." Such is the myth that has grown up around them. I also know a couple of chiropractors who are extremely good at what they do. I can say the same of various doctors I've known.

    Resolutions

I need to clear out a room of clutter. It's not like those houses on television, but I do have lots of things I've put in my "junk" room that I need to weed through. I'm hoping someone will be able to put them to good use.

    False Information

I do wonder how some of these stories pop up. Perhaps someone remembers that putting butter on burns used to be a common remedy. Someone else heard that egg whites could work as an astringent. The next person combined or mixed up the two. A false remedy is born. The Internet allows us to share...

    Carcinogenic compounds in cosmetics

I read recently that many of the foundations, lipsticks, lotions, shampoos and other beauty supplies we use on a daily basis contain cancer-causing compounds in varying amounts. This concerns me. Since 60% of what we rub on our skin is absorbed and eventually ends up in the bloodstream, we need...

    Appetite Suppressant

I've read that peppermint acts as an appetite suppressant. Eating a peppermint after breakfast, lunch and dinner supposedly can help freshen your breath at the same time it helps you lose weight. This beats me. I can see it as a palate cleanser, but I don't know how it can aid weight loss.
